Before comparing options, isolate the legal issue and the decisive fact. Many difficult questions include information that is legally relevant but not decisive. Training yourself to find the controlling rule helps reduce overthinking.
02
Review both correct and incorrect answers
If you answer correctly, confirm that your reasoning was correct rather than lucky. If you answer incorrectly, compare your chosen option with the correct one and identify the exact rule, exception or factual distinction you missed.
03
Keep an error log
Record recurring mistakes such as confusing two similar tests, missing a deadline, overlooking an exception or changing a correct answer without a legal reason. Patterns in your error log are more useful than a raw score alone.
04
Add timing after accuracy improves
Early practice can be slower and analytical. Once the reasoning process becomes more reliable, introduce timed sets and mixed-subject practice. The aim is to preserve legal accuracy while reducing the time needed to identify the best answer.

Practise inside one SQE1 workspace
SQE Success combines question practice with notes, visual revision, study planning, progress tracking and mock exams.
SQE1 revision is easier to manage when reading, recall, question practice and progress tracking work together instead of living in separate files and apps.
A useful SQE1 timetable should fit your exam date, weekly availability and current progress. It should also leave enough room for questions, review and rest.
Good SQE1 notes should help you understand the rule, identify the exam trigger and retrieve the answer quickly. More pages do not automatically mean better revision.
